Specialty coffee from Sumatra has an identity of its own…offering a complex, full-bodied flavor profile. The Sidikalang PODA Coffee Group is a co-op of 750 smallholders, led and trained by ex-missionary Samuel Sihombing. On their small farms, coffee trees are mingled with vegetables, chili plants, orange trees, cabbages, tomatoes and cedar trees. The co-op’s mission is to cultivate the best specialty coffee from their districts and to get a better price for the farmers, so they trust the impact of specialty coffee. Pakpak coffees are balanced, layered and well-bodied. We roast it medium to dark to highlight the complexity and notes of spice, vanilla, berry and licorice root.
